How Do I Know If My Child or I Really Need Help?
-- Has life become unbearable, less joyful?
-- Are you feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or unable to cope?
-- Do you want to feel more successful and calm as a parent?
-- Do you feel ready to make a change?
Dr. Ferguson has helped many children, families and adults with these same concerns, and is committed to helping you and your family reach your goals.
Where Do We Begin?
Every child and individual is evaluated carefully to develop a customized treatment plan. Some children or adults will benefit from a more intensive Diagnostic Assessment. We will discuss all the options and how best to reach your goals. There is no charge for the first 15 minute consultation, when Dr. Ferguson can determine if her services may be of help. If her services and your needs are not a good fit, recommendations and referrals can be made.
What Is Therapy? How Does It Work? How Long Does It Take?
Therapy with Dr. Ferguson is a safe, private, personalized discussion of your goals and what has - and hasn't - worked in the past. Sessions are solution-focused, and communication is active and open. Dr. Ferguson's approach is gentle, honest, and compassionate. You decide how long you would like to work toward your goals. If a Diagnostic Assessment is appropriate, the length will depend on the questions being asked, and you will be given details on length and costs ahead of time. At every stage, you decide the pace.
